KitKat are looking boost their Christmas sales with their latest addition to their range – Bespoke KitKats, which give you the possibility to customise a KitKat, choosing from a variety of flavours. Head of KitKat UK saw the initiative possible due to a certain ‘buzz’ around the brand.

Almost 1,500 flavour combinations will be available for consumers to choose from when customising their KitKat chocolate fingers, with rose petals, cocoa nibs and the option to coat the fingers in ruby chocolate. The latest addition to the range also has ‘special edition’ flavours being produced, such as marmalade, Earl Grey and ‘whiskey & ginger.’ Nestlé announced its latest addition, which is set to do very well during the Christmas festivities.

Recently, the brand started to produce new flavours that attracted young consumers, such as matcha green tea and ruby chocolate. Head of KitKat UK, Cheryl Allen, explained ‘KitKat was launched in the 1930s and one of the reasons it has endured for so long is because it has been able to evolve…These are luxury, handcrafted chocolates and I think it will positively surprise people how far you can stretch this brand.’

Allen added, ‘We are very clear that the bulk of our [chocolate] business remains in the mainstream…This is a differentiated and premium product that is made to order.’ The new product, 150g Bespoke bars, will be sold at £14, whereas the special edition chocolate will be sold at prices starting at £7.50. Regular 41.5g four-fingered KitKat bars cost around 65p.

Furthermore, Bespoke bars mark the first time that Nestlé launched a product directly to the UK’s consumer business. The company followed the trend that consumers lately are attracted to craft products.
